A scientific study as well as two study/questionnaires were carried out in 1992 based on the results obtained from the usage of Firstart Prenatal Stimulation System.
The results are a sample which guarantee and prove the efficiency of this system of stimulation and learning whilst the child is in its mother´s womb.
Summary of the results obtained through questionnaires after using the Firstart Prenatal Stimulation System. The minimum age of the children in this questionnaire which was sent in March, 1996, is nine months old and the maximum age is three and a half years old.

If it is music, does its face become happy, he/she stops what he/she is doing to listen (a high percentage say that the baby is "fascinated") for a few minutes to then carry on with what he/she was playing with.
Others begin to dance or sing. It depends on the type of music. In 100% of the cases, the child is selective in his/her musical tastes. They like classical or children music. In 90% of the cases, classical music relaxes them, in this percentage some ask to go to sleep or to relax. Some mothers say that it is a sedative.
Some anecdotes or notes of interest for parents appear in the document part. A 100% of parents are happy with the results of the prenatal stimulation as they have children who learn easily, are sociable, adapt well, have a sense of humour, are sure of themselves and have great vitality.
Naturally, taking into account the character of each child, some are more daring than others or find one paticular area easier than another, but, in general, they coincide with the results of the scientific study carried out by La Fe Hospital and the Faculty of Psychology, Valencia: the better developed psychic motor, more developed linguistic ability, better co-ordination in eye-hand, eye-ear, better sphincter control. What must be borne in mind are the different stages of pregnancy between the fifth and thirty-fourth week when each mother began the system.
In this sample it is difficult to prove that the best results are obtained by using the Firstart System as early as possible during pregnancy.
We have been able to prove that with respect to the first questionnaires sent in May 1992, there were 4% out of 80 children who were exceptional, and from further questionnaires, this has risen to 18%.
We have also proven that a significant difference exists between the percentage of women who have previously suffered a miscarriage in the first mentioned study.
In the first study the percentage of women having had a previous miscarriage was 36.8%, whilst in the present study this percentage is 16.7%.
This is supposedly due to the fact that probably, in the beginning, a great percentage of women with problems during pregnancy would use the system as a help, whilst at the present time any pregnant woman uses it irrespective of how her pregnancy is progressing.
As far as other aspects are concerned, no significant differences with respect to weight, height or craneal perimeter can be observed between one study and the other. With respect to psychomotor development, differences could be seen in the second study no doubt due to the system being used early on in the pregnancy compared to that of the first. In all other aspects the results are slightly worse, possibly because the number of candidates were multiplied by three in the second study.
